human library\\: a human library is a (physical or digital) space where real people share their experiences with others, with the intention of challenging stigma and stereotypes. In the metaphor of each personal story, shared voluntarily, like loaning a book out of a library; a human library aims to decolonize, heal, teach and build community.

Our stories are the change
and route to deeper compassion, connection and resistance!

This podcast is a collaboration with between The Green Bag Project's patrons, Wits community-based counseling psychology students and some kind-hearted volunteers; an initiative to invite folks to share their stories and reclaim their identities!

We're going out and talking to people in the community to bring their voices and stories to you! We believe in holding space to amplify and empower the voices of people who experience home insecurity .

We believe in the power of being seen and heard, as a way to open up hearts and to learn how to handle each other with more care and compassion, as a community.

A big part of our workshop experiences this year, has been the introduction and hosting of listening sessions. In our listening sessions, patrons are invited to take up center-stage and share their life stories with us- an experience of learning, shifting perceptions and mutual collective healing. In the podcast to come we'll listen into the listening sessions of our patrons, and the experiences of care workers, unhoused peoples and students alike,  about the challenges and triumphs of making a change.

Listen in as we walk the journey of #Leadingwithkindness!
