Suffocating dead zones spread across world's oceans (from the Guardian)

 Man-made pollution is spreading a growing number of suffocating dead zones across the world's seas with disastrous consequences for marine life, scientists have warned.

We all know it was bad...but out-of-season fruit is such a guilty pleasure

Well, we all knew it was a little bit weird when we saw ripe strawberries in December...but STRAWBERRIES IN DECEMBER! thats awesome. Of course, we don't think about it too much anymore and the environment is paying the price. The fish you eat is often more internationally-travelled than you are and thats a real problem.

Hi there, I've been living in London for the past year and I've been really amazed about the level of attention that the government is giving the issue of climate change here. I'd say there are probably fewer environmental groups, definitely less hardcore activists, yet the government seems to be listening.

Santa Monica Moves Closer to Banning the Plastic Bag!

 The Santa Monica City Council voted in favor of a ban on plastic grocery bags and instructed the City Attorney to look into the drafting of an ordinance enforcing the ban. The proposed ordinance would ban some bags and charge for the use of others.

Way to go SoCal. Laguna Beach next??
